San Andreas Elementary School---Community School Grant Overview
Objectives
· To connect families to community services and supports
· To increase parent engagement at SAE
· To increase supports for students academically, mentally and physically
Grant Amount---1.2 million over 5 years
Priorities (as identified through surveys, feedback overall)
· Mental Health, Physical Health, Academic Support, Family Engagement
Actions to Address
· Increased counseling positions and services (addressing mental health)
· Added two PBIS Coordinators (addressing conflict resolution, student behavior, school climate)
· Increasing academic supports (use of staff, addressing academic needs)
· Hired a SAE Community Schools Coordinator (Mark Campbell)
· Parent Workshops (addressing student behavior, well-being and academic supports, provided by Metta Services on a monthly basis)
· Monthly Health Clinics (immunizations, student safety, health screenings---provided by County Public Health)
· Family Events/Activities (conducted by community agencies, emphasizing student and family wellness)
· Classroom Presentations (lessons and activities provided by The Resource Connection, County Public Health)
· Family Resource Centers (opening a Food Pantry and on campus access to personal hygiene supplies, clothes and school supplies---to open in 2026/27)
